Group Therapy is a personal, intimate network of relationships where members share a spontaneous interaction between them.
As a member of a Therapy Group you will be part of this network where others will be able to connect and relate to you and your problems or concerns.
Members of a therapy group generally feel understood and no longer alone with their problems. Feeling understood by other members who will share a commonality with your problems can allow a deeper level of understanding and transformation to take place.

Members describe feeling understood and supported by other members of a group who will identify and understand you and their own concerns on deeper levels.
If you decide on group therapy you would always be seen for one or more individual sessions prior to joining a group. This allows time to answer questions that you may have before making a commitment to the group.
Couple or family therapy is something you may wish to consider if the difficulties you are experiencing are only with whom you are in a current relationship.
It is quite a common concern to feel uneasy or embarrassed at the thought of sharing one's feelings with others, especially when first joining a group.
It takes time for a sense of trust to develop, but this usually happens quite quickly, followed by a sense of relief at finding that one is not alone.
The sense of closeness that develops in the group can be immensely strengthening and supportive. As in all therapeutic settings it takes time to trust and to feel comfortable talking about your problems.
